Mental Capacity Act Training

Bury Adult Care Services have commissioned a Learning Resource available on CD Rom that will provide all managers with a comprehensive training toolkit to enable them support their staff to understand the Act and apply the Code of Practice.

All those (Approximately 320 members of staff) who attended the One Day Training Course were issued with a copy of the CD Rom and were asked to disseminate the information to all staff in their team and to review and revise all existing systems and documentation to ensure that the legal requirement to have regard to the Code of Practice is integrated into all aspects of practice.

Undertaking the Mental Capacity Act Training via the CD Rom is now mandatory for all newly appointed members of staff.  Therefore, if you have a new starter or if you still have staff who are uncertain of their obligations under the Act, then contact the Development and Training Team who will provide you with details of those people in your team who have already undertaken the training and have access to the CD Rom.

To ensure that individuals are accredited with this learning it is important that the confirmation slip is returned to Development & Training (Adults), Seedfield Centre, Parkinson Street, Bury. BL9 6NY on completion of the training.
