Bury Adult Care Training Partnership Awards Ceremony 2008
The Bury Adult Care Training Partnership provides access to funding and learning as well as access to development and training opportunities in order to develop the skills and knowledge of the social care workforce within the Private, Voluntary and Independent Social Care Sector of Bury.
The second annual Bury Adult Care Training Partnership Awards Ceremony took place on Monday 31st March 2008 at the Elizabethan Suite in Bury. The purpose of this event was to celebrate the achievements of the partnership over the past twelve months. The event was attended by members of the partnership, service users, training providers and his Worshipful the Mayor and the Mayoress Councillor Dr & Mrs Farook Chaudhry..
Speakers at the event included his worshipful the Mayor, Sue George the Sub Regional Coordinator for Lancashire from Skills for Care, Mike Kelly the Deputy Chief Executive of Bury Council and Pat Jones Greenhalgh the Executive Director of Adult Care Services of Bury Council.
The theme of the evening was partnership working and this was recognised by each of the speakers as having made a positive impact on the way care services are provided in Bury. It was also acknowledged that partnership working was important to ensure that standards and consistency are maintained during the changing times ahead.
The event was also an opportunity to celebrate the achievement of qualifications gained across the partnership over the year. Certificates were presented to the successful candidates by his worshipful the Mayor. The evening was rounded off by the cutting of the celebratory cake and buffet.
