Care charges

Each person who receives care services is required to pay for those services. A separate charging policy is operational for each type of service received.

Some of these charges are calculated based on the individual financial circumstances of the service user, and some are standard flat rate charges where everybody pays the same charge.

There are standard rates applicable for each type of service which are payable if financial circumstances are not disclosed, or if the level of financial means exceeds the charging limits.

A reduction of these charges is possible if a financial assessment is carried out based on the disclosed financial circumstances of the service user.

All service users applying for a reduction from the standard rates must provide documentary evidence of all financial matters, and sign a Financial Assessment Form declaration agreeing to meet the charges for their services.

Standard Rates; (as from April 2008)

  • Home Care £11.00 per hr, (Depending on financial assessment)
  • Day Care Transport £3.40 per return journey, £1.70 per single journey (Depending on financial assessment).
  • Day Care Meals £3.15 per lunch, £2.25 per tea. *
  • Community Meals on Wheels £3.15 per lunch, £1.90 per tea. *

*These are flat rates and do not depend on financial assessment i.e. everyone pays the flat rate.
