How would you benefit from Adult Placement?

- Have a rest or break
- Learn new skills
- Re-learn old skills
- Make new friends
- Live more independently
- Take part in activities
Who are Adult Placement carers?
They are ordinary people from the local community who have been checked thoroughly and trained to give support to people using the scheme. Find more detailed information on the role of Adult Placement Carers and how to become one.
How do you contact the Scheme?
To find out if you could benefit from the Scheme, please contact your Key Worker or Social Worker (if you already have one). Alternatively contact the Adult Placement Scheme and they will give you further information.
What happens next?
If it's agreed that you can use the Scheme, an Adult Placement Co-ordinator will talk with you and your worker to get to know you better and understand your needs. This is so we can match you to the right Adult Placement Carer.
Before a placement goes ahead, the person to be placed, their family (if relevant) and the Adult Placement Carer are introduced and meet over a period of time, getting to know each other. A placement doesn't go ahead until everyone involved is happy about the arrangement.
If at any time during a placement, things aren't working out, other arrangements will be made.
For an informal chat and information, please contact the Adult Placement Team on 0161 253 7243.
