Care Services Improvement Partnership- Strategic Needs Assessment in the North West
On Friday 08 June, CSIP hosted a conference on joint strategic needs assessment (agenda). The purpose of the conference was to develop a shared understanding of strategic needs assessment (SNA) and its contribution to whole system commissioning; to develop an awareness and an understanding of the use of information in strategic decision-making; to explore the relationship between SNA, service redesign and improved outcomes and efficiency; and to build regional networks and support.
The event was held at Bolton Wanderers' Reebok Stadium and was attended by 300 senior PCT and Local Authority staff. There were presentations from the Institute of Public Care , Dr Foster, Bury and the North West Public Health Observatory and it gave Bury a chance to showcase the work it is doing on this project and to seek feedback on the model through the workshop that we ran. We were also able to provide support to other colleagues from across the North West who were seeking to address the same challenges.
