Mental Health Services
There are two Community Mental Health Team's covering the North and South of the borough, the south team is based at 1a Lord street Radcliffe and the North team is based at Inwood House, 5 Castlecroft Road Bury. The Community Mental Health Team's are multi-disciplinary comprising social workers, community psychiatric nurses, carer support workers and community occupational therapists.
The Team's offer a service to people who experience severe and enduring mental health problems aged 18-65 years old and have statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983 and the NHS and Community Care Act 1990 to provide assessment of individuals health and social care needs.
Practitioners devise care plans and packages of care for individuals and their carers. Practitioners also carry key co-ordinator functions/responsibilities under the Care Programme Approach, which involves assessment of risk and its management.

Mental Health Services Action Plan
In November 2005, Bury Mental Health Services were inspected by the Commission for Social Care Inspectorate (CSCI). CSCI made a number of recommendations to change Mental Health Services in Bury.
