The aim of Home Tuition is as follows:
To provide teaching for pupils of all ages who are not attending school due to long term medical needs or pregnancy.
The roles of Home Tuition are as follows:
- To liaise with parents, home, school, educational welfare service and health professionals to provide tuition in the pupil's home, local library or school as appropriate.
- To establish links with the pupil's school to maintain continuity of study and social interaction.
- To produce a Personal Education Plan and reintegration programme to facilitate the effective return to full time education.
- To monitor punctuality, attendance and progress during the period of tuition.
- To liaise with other support agencies e.g. Connexions Service, Alternative Provision Staff and Mental Health Agencies as appropriate.
The team consists of:
1 part time coordinator
6 home tutors
