Find out about Postcards from the Park
Following the success of last year’s Postcards from the Park competition, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund have again joined forces with GreenSpace to re-launch this
exciting photo competition.
The competition will be judged by celebrated photographer, Mike McCartney and £1,000 in Jessops vouchers is up for grabs for the lucky overall winner. All regional and country finalists and runners-ups will have their photos professionally curated for a national exhibition. They’ll also be turned into postcards, which will be distributed at Lottery-funded venues
across the UK.
So if you are out and about at your favourite park, why not take your camera and see if you can snap a winning shot whilst you are there?

New summer play schemes
Thanks to a successful bid to the Big Lottery for funding for summer play schemes, Bury Ranger Service are running free outdoor play activities in parks throughout the school summer holiday period. Each child is entitled to participate for 3 days over the 6 week period, subject to securing an available place on the scheme.
The rangers will be hosting a wide range of activities including clay modeling, helping local wildlife, bottle rockets, parachute games and much more.
Playworkers will be helping the rangers in running the activities. To comply with child protection legislation all staff working on the play schemes are subject to Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks.
