All efforts to recycle and reduce waste can have a positive impact on our environment.
Our mobile phone and printer cartridge recycling initiative is a partnership arrangement between Bury Council, Chester Zoo and Office Green Technologies. It is hoped that some of the thousands of unused and out-of-date mobile phones currently lying around Bury's homes can be put to good use and at the same time contribute towards the conservation of some of the world's most endangered species.
Pick up one of the Free Post envelopes available at libraries or main Council contact points and send us your inkjet cartridges or old mobile phone. (Don't forget to remove the sim card first).

Each envelope received will be entered into a prize draw giving the sender a chance to win a luxury weekend break for two, to a selected European City.
All mobile phones will be recycled for their components or re-used in developing countries. The money raised will go towards the care and conservation of Chester Zoo's animals and endangered species.
