In Bury, planning is the responsibility of Bury Council, although its decisions need to be in general conformity with national and regional planning policy. Planning matters are dealt with by both the Executive Committee and the Planning Control Committee

Planning update
Bury Council's Re-inventing Radcliffe Strategy is starting to come to fruition. The first planning applications have been submitted for the East Lancs Paper Mill site (ELPM), Coney Green High School site and Tower Farm. The ELPM site application includes the new Community School and the Tower Farm site new sports facilities. The planning application for the Coney Green site is an outline application for the site to be redeveloped for residential use. Go to the Radcliffe Regeneration page for more information.
