The Woodhill Bike Path

The Woodhill Bike Path was built in 1996 at a cost of £60,000 along the first section of the old Holcombe Brook railway line, with financial assistance from Bury and Rochdale Health Authority.

Although only 550 metres long it offers a very useful shortcut to avoid the traffic bottleneck of Bury Bridge, making it quicker to get from Brandlesholme to Bury town centre by bike than by car. Eventually it will be connected to the Kirklees Trail, another converted section of the Holcombe Brook railway to provide a pleasant off-road walking and cycling route from Tottington and Greenmount to Bury Town Centre.
