The Roch Valley Greenway was built in two phases between 2001 and 2004. Financially aided by European Regional Development Fund and the Single Regeneration Budget, the 2.2 kms path provides a mainly off road route along the river between Blackford Bridge and Pimhole. An aspiration exists to extend the path up the valley to Rochdale.
