For several years Bury Council has been committed to achieving the establishment of a 'national grade' touring caravan and campsite within the Borough. This commitment has been based on a desire locally to increase Bury's attractiveness as a tourist destination, to further stimulate the local visitor economy, and specifically to increase the number of overnight visitors to Bury.
The Caravan Club, a national touring caravan and campsite provider in Britain, is developing a site at Burrs Country Park which is due to open at Easter 2006.
