Consultation on Draft SPD7 - Managing the Supply of Housing Land in Bury
The Council has amended the content of SPD7 which is now out for consultation for a period of five weeks, ending on 17 November 2008.

Annual Monitoring Report 2007
Bury's Annual Monitoring Report 2007 is now available. This report provides useful information about the Borough and details the progress made in producing Bury's new Local Development Framework.

Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment
As part of the 'Plan, Monitor and Manage' approach, Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing (PPS3) encourages local authorities to undertake Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessments (SHLAA) to help identify potential sites for residential development. The SHLAA is an assessment of how many units can be accommodated on identified sites and the timeframes for when these sites are likely to be available. Site Allocations DPD – Site Suggestion Exercise
A Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) will be produced as part of Bury's Local Development Framework (LDF). The preparation of this document is at an early stage and there is currently a lot of research and survey work being undertaken to help feed into the Issues and Options stage of this DPD.
As part of this research and survey work, people can suggest sites and areas that they wish to see protected or be allocated for development.

Saved Policies
The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 allowed local authorities to save existing policies until 27 September 2007, unless they apply to extend them beyond this date. The Council made an application to save all the UDP policies except OL7/1 and the Secretary of State has directed that all the other UDP policies can be saved.

Bury’s Core Strategy Second Stage Issues and Options Report has been produced and was subject to a period of consultation during July / August 2007.

Local Development Scheme (LDS)
Bury’s project plan document (Local Development Scheme or LDS) has been revised to provide the new timetable for the production of Bury’s Local Development Framework.
The March 2007 LDS took effect on 27 March 2007 and explains the new Local Development Documents that the Council will be producing. Viewing the LDS is a starting point for those interested in the progress of Bury's Local Development Framework (LDF).
