NW Sustainable Energy Strategy

The Government published the Energy White Paper in February 2003 as the first national sustainable energy policy for a generation.  The Energy White Paper sees local authorities as being crucial to delivering the step change needed to reach the long term target of 60% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2050.

Local authorities have an essential role in helping to deliver national targets.  Through their interface with local communities and their influence on transport planning and housing, local government actions at regional and local level have social, economic and environmental impacts on issues such as Climate Change.

Your views on the NW Regions Sustainable Energy Strategy are essential to help formulate how the North West is better able to help meet those targets in the future and make a better environment for those who follow us in that future.
