Green Flag parks in Bury

Green Flag Award logo

An important aspect of our annual 'in bloom' entry is our urban and country parks.  11 out of 11 parks submitted by our Parks and Countryside Service for the annual Green Flag awards have won the prestigious 2007/08 Green Flags in the scheme’s 11th anniversary year.  This result confirms once again that Bury is most definitely amongst the greenest of the green when it comes to its wonderful parks.

Green Flag status has been verified for:

  • Openshaw Park in Bury East;
  • Clarence Park in Bury East;
  • Burrs Country Park in Bury West;
  • Whitehead Park in Bury West
  • Nuttall Park in Ramsbottom;
  • Whitefield Park in Whitefield;
  • St Mary’s Park in Prestwich;
  • Close Park in Radcliffe;
  • Town Meadow Park in Tottington;
  • Manchester Road Park in East Bury.

and confirmed for the first time to:

  • Bolton Road Park in Radcliffe.
