2006 - Award to Bury

2006 - Bury triumphs for the third year in a row and blooms best in the North West, again.

The highly esteemed title of ‘Best large town in the North West’ belongs again to Bury for the third year running. 
 
The announcement came on Friday 15 September at the North West in Bloom awards ceremony sponsored by the North West Development Agency and run by the Royal Horticultural Society. 
 
On top of this fantastic achievement Bury was also honoured with the ‘Best feature in a public place’ award for the second year running.  This was given in recognition of the quality of the special features exhibited at various locations throughout the town.  This year’s entry included a variety of willow sculptures that enhanced the floral features. 
 
On the back of this success Bury will now go on to represent the whole of the North West in the national contest, Britain in Bloom, in the Summer of 2007. 
Bury's 'in bloom' initiative is all about everyone working together to achieve results.
