How many schools in Bury are already delivering applied vocational qualifications?
12 schools within the Borough are involved in group activity where pupils are involved in vocational programmes with Bury College.
Over 250 pupils are involved with forms of vocational links with the college. A further 4 schools are already involved in the delivery of applied vocational GCSEs within their own school. Plans to introduce further applied GCSEs in 2004 are underway in a further 6 schools.

The CD-ROM, which features a section for each of the new GCSE subject areas, includes information on assessment, moderation, progression, staff development, key skills opportunities, making vocational links and quality assurance.
Useful web addresses, publications, sample assignments and year plans give teachers a head start in implementing the programmes and making sure they have a distinctive vocational element.
