Bury Metropolitan Borough Council is a rapidly improving Council, playing its part in a community, making its name in Greater Manchester and in the North West.
We have re-invented ourselves and have the following ambitions for our area:
- The place to live in Greater Manchester
- Area where people feel safe and secure
- Healthiest borough in the North West
- Popular visitor destination
- Premier retail town in the north of Greater Manchester
- Centre of excellence for education and training in the North West
- Each township thriving
- Area with first class services
- Quality jobs for Bury people
Some of these ambitions are about doing what we do even better, for example an outstanding education and further education provision, whilst others are about improving in areas where we do not do so well, health outcomes being a primary example. We want to make the Bury experience better for our residents, visitors and those who work here.
I hope this site shows you how we intend to succeed in this task.
