Budget consultation 2010

Bury Council is currently setting its budget for the coming year and we are interested in what you think.

We have arranged a consultation meeting to take place on Tuesday 2 February at 7pm in the Peel Room at Bury Town Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend to hear about our plans and to let us have their views.

We have found that there is likely to be a gap between our spending and our income next year and so we have looked to find cost savings. The various savings options will be put forward for consideration by the Council when it sets the budget on 24 February 2010.

Budget simulator game

As part of our budget consultation we like to give youu the opportunity to find out what it’s like to set a budget by deciding how much, or how little, money should be allocated according to your priorities across the Borough.

You can do this by playing Bury’s budget simulation game which is simple to use and fun to play.  At the end of the game we think you will understand a bit more about how budgets are set and how they need to be prioritised.

The simulator game is based around two main stages and shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes to complete. After completing the game your results will be submitted to us so that we can then put everyone’s opinions together and consider them for budget and spending priorities for the years ahead.
