We are now consulting local people on the budget for the year starting on 1 April 2008.
This web page provides information about what we expect the budget and council tax increase to be in 2008/09 and we hope that you will look at the two documents below which have identified possible savings for the year.

Budget simulator game
As part of our budget consultation for 2008/09 we want to givegave Bury’s residents the opportunity to find out what it’s like to set a budget by deciding how much, or how little, money should be allocated according to your priorities across the Borough.
You can do this by playing Bury’s budget simulation game which is simple to use and fun to play. At the end of the game you should understand a bit more about how budgets are set and how they need to be prioritised.

The simulator game is based around two main stages and shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes to complete. After completing the game your results will be submitted to us so that we can then put everyone’s opinions together and consider them for budget and spending priorities for the years ahead.
Bury Council will set its budget and council tax level on Wednesday 20 February 2008.
