What do star ratings mean?
CSCI star ratings tell you:
- How well your council is serving adults who use social care services
- What potential your council has to improve.
Councils have a duty to help their residents access the social services they need. The star rating gives an overall picture of how well the council does this.
How does CSCI award the star ratings?
These are based on:
- Meetings with councils.
- Inspections of council social care services.
- Looking at detailed council statistics.
- How well councils have met their own plans for improving their services.
CSCI give councils the following ratings:
- Three stars - excellent.
- Two stars - good.
- One stars - adequate.
- Zero stars - inadequate.
