Direction of Travel Statement

The Direction of Travel Statement 2008 (56.5kb 7 page pdf) is effectively a formal progress report on how well we are doing in terms of improving outcomes amd implementing improvement plans.

Each Council is required by the Audit Commission to produce a Direction of Travel Statement each September.  This forms part of the CPA jigsaw and is judged by the Commission against set criteria known as Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs).  The judgement is published in the following December and plays an important part in how the council is perceived particularly by Government and external regulators/inspectors.

Over time, this annual statement will build up a performance profile of the council, which will be used by inspectors carrying out corporate governance and joint area reviews.
