Bury Council operates a registration scheme for monumental masons.
Only masons registered on the scheme will be permitted to work in Bury Council's cemeteries. This is to protect you and allow the Council to regulate the methods and workmanship of the masons working in our cemeteries.
The registered mason has agreed to work and comply to the current codes of practice of the National Association of Monumental Masons in force at the time of installing a new headstone.
All work carried out by the masons must be covered by a guarantee. This is a guarantee to protect grave owners against faulty workmanship or materials.
