Cemeteries

We own three cemeteries in the borough, and the cemetery office is based at Bury Cemetery.

Bury Cemetery, St Peter's Road, Bury,

provides for burials of various religious groups. There are separate areas for:

Jewish and Muslim communities;
babies and young children; and
burying ashes.

Bury Cemetery also has a chapel available which can be used for funeral/memorial services and marriages.

Administration of burials for all denominations is carried out at the cemetery office at Bury Cemetery, where genealogical (family tree) searches can also be made.  The office can also recommend an undertaker if a funeral needs to be arranged.

Ramsbottom Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Ramsbottom,

is our smallest cemetery but still provides for different religious groups and has separate areas for ashes, and for babies and young children.

Radcliffe Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Radcliffe,

has an area set aside for "green" burials and an ashes plot. Green burials are where a tree is planted insread of laying a headstone, and environmentally freindly coffins can be used.
