Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Community Forum

Introducing the BME Community Forum

We are currently seeking members for a new forum we are setting up to represent a voice for the BME community in Bury.

As a member of the forum you will have an opportunity to create and change Bury Council's policies as well as being the first point of contact for consultation on areas and matters which affect BME people in Bury.

Who is membership open to?

Membership is open to all black and minority ethnic organisations in Bury who are committed to the aims of the Forum. However, we recognise that there are many people from ethnic minority communities in Britain who do not identify themselves as being black but whom, because of their ethnic origin, language, culture or religious differences share a common experience of discrimination and inequality. These people also qualify to join the BME Community Forum.

Frequency of forum meetings

The BME Community Forum will meet every 6 weeks at Bury Town Hall (around 8 to 9 times per year).

How to join the forum

If you would like to join this forum and would like to play an important role in how Bury Council delivers its future services to the BME community, then please register your interest by completing the online application form. We will then contact you with further details.
