Bury Council values and celebrates diversity, and is committed to equality of opportunity and fairness for all. We have a thriving LGBT Employee Group who are regularly consulted on Council policy, offer a support network for staff, and are involved in various local events, such as Manchester Pride.

Stonewall Diversity Champions
After consultation with the LGBT Employee Group, Bury Council has become a Stonewall Diversity Champion.
Stonewall are Britain's leading gay equality organisation, and the Council aim to work with them to improve their working environment and further develop a workplace culture which will allow employees to be valued for themselves and give 100%. The Council's success will be measured in the Workplace Equality Index which Stonewall publish annually.
For further information, please look at Stonewall's website.
