The Witness Service is part of victim Support and helps witnessess and their family and friends when attending any of the Criminal Courts in England and Wales. The Witness Service helps witnessess in providing evidence to support prosecution.

The Witness Service offers;

• Information about Court and Legal Processes
• Pre-Court visits for witnessess, so that they are familiar with the Court room and the roles of the various people there, before they give evidence
• Support in the Court room if necessary, on the day of the trial, during sentencing and afterwards
• Special help and support for witnessess who are vulnerable and intimidated

As a witness you could play a crucial role in the conviction of a criminal(s) by providing factual information about the incidents that you may have witnessed. In doing so, you will be fully supported by the professionals working in the Vicitm Support and Witness Service.
