What is work-related violence?
Work-related violence is described by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as:
"Any incident in which a person is abused, threatened, or assaulted in circumstances relating to their work”.
What is the Violence at Work initiative?
The Health and Safety Team of Environmental Health Services are delivering a Violence at Work Initiative for the retail sector.
As part of this initiative Environmental Health Officers will visit retail premises to carry out in-depth assessment and advice visits. They will identify practical measures to reduce levels of violence in the premises and leave behind a guidance folder containing advice, risk assessment examples and blank forms for completion.
