About the project

This project will re-energise the look of Pimhole and will provide a great opportunity to bring about lasting change to the lives of the people of Pimhole, strengthening the local community and economy.

About Lowry Homes

Lowry Homes is a private, regeneration-led house building company that has a proven track record in successful and innovative community projects. Established in 1997, Lowry is part of the Jackson Holdings Group, which has diverse interests in property, investment and development throughout the UK. They have an extensive portfolio of projects in regeneration areas through a partnership approach. Examples of this can be seen throughout the north west.

Projects undertaken to date demonstrate their commitment to working on schemes in partnership to meet the wider aims of sustaining local communities, providing quality and added value for the area. A key part of success has been clear, meaningful consultation and communication strategies, together with local employment and training, low cost homes ownership and long-term management arrangements. Lowry Homes' commitment to innovative design and engineering ensure the best value is achieved, aspects that will be brought to Pimhole.

Lowry will use a range of consultation techniques to engage with the community including:

  • Design workshops
  • Affordability working group
  • Consultation events
  • Steering group

The future

Views of the community and stakeholders will be gathered throughout the whole consultation process to help shape development decisions.

This is a real opportunity to transform the Pimhole neighbourhood where Lowry Homes will create a new and sustainable place where people will be proud to live.

Designs are to include:

  • A fresh image - the regenerated neighbourhood will be attractive to existing residents who will wish to remain and will also be appealing to new residents who can bring greater prosperity to the area.
  • New homes - housing will be constructed from high quality robust materials.
  • Flexibility - new homes that can be tailored to different markets. Purchasers buying off-plan will be able to choose how their new home will suit their lifestyle, eg an additional reception room or extra environmental features.
  • Energy efficiency - low energy requirements will mean low running costs.
  • Blueprint - plans that can be replicated in other areas as a means of approaching redevelopment.
  • Security - private rear gardens enclosed by buildings.
  • Exclusivity - by creating distinctive designs.
  • Accessibility - by strengthening key routes.
  • Range - flexibility and choice of houses with 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes on offer and a range of options including garages/home office/roof terrace.
  • EcoHomes standard - homes will meet "Very Good" standard under 2006 revision.
  • Fixtures and fittings - quality fixtures and fittings supplied as standard.
  • Sustainability - green lifestyle options with rainwater butts, compost bins and low volume flush toilets on offer.
