
What is the Bury Local Strategic Partnership?
The Bury Strategic Partnership is a public/private sector partnership formed in 1994 to ensure that Bury prospers and grows by meeting the long term needs of the community and facilitating more effective use of services and resources. The partnership has since been developed into a full local strategic partnership (LSP) following Government guidelines and fully incorporating the community planning process. The LSP has responsibility for delivering the Action Plan. The Action Plan Steering Group includes members from:
- Bury Metropolitan Borough Council
- Business Link North Manchester
- Bolton and Bury Chamber of Commerce
- Greater Manchester Learning and Skills Council
- Bury College
- Greater Manchester Police
- Employment Service
- Bury and Rochdale Primary Care Trust
- Bury Council for Voluntary Service
- and the Private Sector
Bury Metropolitan Borough Council is accountable body for the Action Plan within the LSP. The European Action Plan team administers the Action Plan and is based at the Council's Economic Development section. The Council believes in developing and operating European projects that benefit its citizens and the citizens of Europe.
